In my option Solution Architect is both profession and craftsmanship. I think that there are three main pillars of every solution architect - software engineering, system administration and business analysis. It is important to have overview of all and practical professional experience from at least one of them.

Business analysis - helps you to understand functional and non functional requirements - dealing with customers and project management

In the future I am going to become a solution architect. As it is quite a useful and profitable profession well though I was interested in it I did not know the full functionality of this profession. I decided to learn more on the Internet and found the information I was looking for on the site What is a Solution Architect? I really liked how the website described in detail the different needs of the profession. In general, I have learned a lot of new things for myself with the help of this site so I recommend it to you.
