Baby wipes do sometimes cause yeast infections, especially when baby wipes are used excessively.

Using baby wipes too much and excessively on the genital area can disrupt the natural balance of bacteria and yeast especially in the vagina of a girl.

And some baby wipes also contain fragrances and other chemicals as well as preservatives which can irritate the skin and alter the pH balance and make it more susceptible or prone to yeast infections.

And even leaving baby wipes on the genital area for extended periods of time can also create a moist environment which promotes yeast growth.

Baby wipes only should be used when necessary such as when changing poop diapers or when a baby has a really wet diaper and their skin is wet.

You don't always need to use baby wipes during every diaper change if it's just pee if you're using disposable diapers as disposable diapers absorb the pee and hold it away from the skin.

Also be sure to dry the genital area or diaper area thoroughly after using baby wipes.

You can tell if a baby or toddler has a yeast infection by looking for a red, scaly rash in their diaper area.

The red scaly rash in the baby or toddlers diaper area as a result of a yeast infection will also sometimes have pustules and the baby or toddler may also be fussy ,experience discomfort during diaper changes and have difficulty in feeding if they have oral thrush.

Vaginal yeast infections in babies or toddlers can also result in itching, redness and thick white discharge and even pain during urination.

The pustules that can appear with a yeast infection in babies or toddlers are small, pus filled bumps.

If you notice a red, scaly rash in the baby or toddlers diaper area, including their groin, genitals and buttocks as well as the toddlers upper thighs then it's a sign of a yeast infection.

Toddlers or babies with yeast infections often also become more resistant to diaper changes and irritable due to the discomfort with the yeast infection.

And the skin with a yeast infection can be bumpy, cracked, shiny or even oozy with a deep red or purple hue to it.

Oral thrush in babies or toddlers results in white patches on the babies or toddlers tongue as well as inside the cheeks and roof of the mouth.

And babies or toddlers with oral thrush are often reluctant to feed as a result of pain or discomfort in the mouth.

Vaginal yeast infections in girls results in the vaginal area being red and itchy as well as resulting in a thick, white, cottage cheese like discharge which can be slightly yeasty or even odorless.

And burning or pain during urination and even sometimes pain during bowel movements can also occur.
