The exercise that is best for the heart is aerobic exercise as well as flexibility exercise and strength training exercises.

Aerobic exercise such as running, swimming or even brisk walking is a crucial exercise for improving your cardiovascular health or heart health.

And flexibility exercises and strength training exercises also play crucial roles in your overall heart health and fitness.

Even going for daily walks or cycling daily can help improve your heart health and keep your heart strong and healthy.

Aerobic exercises such as running, walking, swimming etc strengthens your heart muscle and improves blood circulation, lowers your blood pressure and also lowers your cholesterol as well as reduces your risk of diabetes and heart disease.

Jogging, brisk walking, running, swimming, cycling, rowing and even dancing are all examples of aerobic exercise.

You should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity or 75 minutes of some vigorous intensity aerobic exercise per week.

Strength training exercises also builds muscle mass and helps burn fat and improves your metabolism and it can also help improve your cholesterol levels and reduce your risk of heart attack and strokes.

Examples of some strength training exercises are using resistance bands, body weight exercises such as push ups, squats, Pilates, yoga and weightlifting.

You should aim for 2 to 3 strength training exercise sessions each week and allow for some rest days in between.

Doing flexibility exercises improves your range of motion, reduces any joint pain you have and can also help you with other exercises.

Some examples of flexibility exercises are tai chi, yoga and stretching.

You can incorporate the flexibility exercises a couple of times a week, and most ideally you should do the flexibility exercises after warming up or finishing up other exercises.
