Even certain medications like some antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs and Corticosteroids as well as stress, smoking, alcohol, lack of exercise and intestinal parasites.

Gluten intolerance's, dairy intolerance's and food allergies can cause inflamed intestines.

Autoimmune disorders like Scleroderma, Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis and even inflammatory bowel diseases like ulcerative colitis, which is inflammation that only affects your large intestine or colon, and Crohn's disease which is inflammation that can affect any part of your digestive tract.

Bacterial infections that can cause inflamed intestines are Salmonella and E. coli and viral infections that can cause inflamed intestines are norovirus and rotavirus.
