Hydrogen peroxide can remove most stains although some stains may be harder to remove with hydrogen peroxide and may require more powerful commercial stain removers.

Hydrogen can remove most stains as hydrogen peroxide works by releasing oxygen, and the oxygen breaks down the chromophores which are the colored parts of the stain molecules.

The bubbling action of the hydrogen peroxide also helps lift the stain from the fabrics fibers and makes the stain easier to remove.

The use of hydrogen peroxide to remove stains is also great for brightening of dull white fabrics and removing stains from white laundry.

And the hydrogen peroxide is also pretty effective on blood stains, sweat stains, red wine stains and other organic stains.

Although hydrogen peroxide is not good for all fabrics as it could stain the fabric itself and cause bleaching or discoloration.

Although many fabrics are okay with hydrogen peroxide being used on them.

Just be sure to do a colorfastness test on the fabric with the hydrogen peroxide on an inconspicuous area of the fabric and ideally wait 24 hours to ensure that the hydrogen peroxide does not cause discoloration or bleaching.

And avoid using hydrogen peroxide on fabrics that are delicate like silk and wool or on undyed, "greige" fabrics as hydrogen peroxide can bleach these types of fabrics.

Also use the 3% concentration of hydrogen peroxide when removing stains from fabrics, which is the standard for household use of hydrogen peroxide.

To use hydrogen peroxide on fabrics to remove stains, scrap or blot away any loose stain material first.

Then spray, pour or blot some of the hydrogen peroxide directly onto the stain and allow the hydrogen peroxide to sit for a few minutes or longer to work on the stain.

Then blot the stained area with a clean cloth and some water.

After blotting the stained area you can wash the garment as you normally would.

If the stain is really touch you can also make a paste with the hydrogen peroxide and a bit of dish soap and apply it using a soft brush and allow it to sit and then wash.
