In Arkansas there's no actual legal age for a child to stay home alone in Arkansas.

Although it's suggested that a child in any state including Arkansas be at least 12 years old before being left alone for an extended period.

The state of Arkansas does not have a law that sets the minimum age for a child to be left home alone.

But the Arkansas Department of Human Services states that the determining factors of when to leave a child home alone are based on the risk of harm to the child, appropriate circumstances and appropriate age.

Children between the ages of 7 to 10 are sometimes able to manage short periods of time when left alone at home, when the child is in a predictable and routine environment such as after school.

Children that are under the age of 7 years old are not often capable of thinking logically or putting cause and effect together and should not be left alone.

Children ages 9 to 12 are often okay to be alone at home for an hour or less.

And children ages 12 and up and older can often be left alone for longer periods and if it's 13 or above they may be able to be left alone for a week or so.

But it also depends on the child's maturity.

As long as your child is responsible, mature and follows instructions then it can be okay to leave the child home alone.
