The thing that happened to 6th Ave Electronics is they had financial troubles , high debt and over expansion as well as a poor economy that resulted in their closure and a court ordered liquidation.

6th Ave closed their physical retail locations around the years 2011 to 2012 due to the above listed problems.

And the 6th Ave Electronics brand name was later acquired and continues to operate as an online electronics retailer, and is commonly known as 6Ave or 6th Avenue Express.

In late 2011, a New Jersey Superior Court Judge had ordered the 6th Ave Electronics company to close their remaining stores and assigned Alco Capital to sell off their assets.

The reasons that are cited for failure of 6th Ave Electronics include the weak late 2000s economy, increased interest rates and even reduced demand for TVs, which also is combined with over expansion and inventory issues.

And as of 2012, Albert Houllou acquired the rights to the 6th Ave Electronics Name and website and operates it as 6Ave online, which also functions as a third party seller on platforms like Newegg and Amazon.

Also the online entity of 6Ave, is known for selling electronics and even sometimes including "grey market" items, which might not carry U.S. manufacturer warranties.

Albert Houllou owns the rights to the Sixth Avenue name and website, which had recently launched on Amazon.com as a featured merchant.

Most of 6th Ave electronics offerings are grey market.

Although the merchandise that 6thAve Electronics sells is legal and legitimate, but they won't be warrantied in the US by the manufacturer.

You might be able to buy a third party warranty through them or otherwise.
