Does catheter insertion hurt?

I'm supposed to go to the hospital in a few days and they say they will be inserting a catheter into me.

How painful is it to get a catheter inserted into you?

I have no personal experience with catheters but I hear they are painful going in if you're not already knocked out for surgery.

If you're put to sleep by sedation then you most likely won't feel a thing when the catheter is inserted.
