Bruschetta is made of grilled or toasted bread that is rubbed with some garlic and then drizzled with some olive oil.

The most popular variation of bruschetta includes a topping of some diced tomatoes, fresh basil as well as balsamic vinegar.

Although traditional toppings for bruschetta can also include beans, cured meats and some other vegetables.

The main ingredients of bruschetta are slices of grilled or toasted Italian or sourdough bread, garlic which is rubbed on the toasted bread for added flavor and extra virgin olive oil is then drizzled on the bread.

Common toppings for bruschetta include diced tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, which are often mixed with the diced tomatoes, Balsamic vinegar/glaze which adds a sweet and tangy flavor, salt and pepper that is used to enhance the other flavors and cheese such as Parmesan cheese or other cheeses which are sometimes sprinkled on top of the bruschetta.

To make bruschetta simply slice a baguette or other Italian bread, then toast or grill the bread slices until they are golden brown.

Next rub the warm toast with a raw garlic clove.

Drizzle the bread with some olive oil.

And then top the bruschetta with any of your desired ingredients, like basil, diced tomatoes, cheese and balsamic glaze.
